Bosphorus *Mare  The mare was bred in the stud of Lord Portmore in England and once imported she was known as the Carroll of Carrollton mare.  Her sire was Bosphorus but her dam is unidentified.  A search of the extant records of Portmore's might turn up a probable grey mare for the Bosphorus mare's dam.
